I See Yogyakarta
6:21 AM
Today I opened the files on my hard disk to copy them to my laptop. And I came across this file entitled, "yogyes". It's a folder of captures I took when I went on a trip to Yogyakarta with my supermega best friend. The trip only lasted a few days, but, God, was it memorable.

Ah, Yogyakarta. I've always been fond of the name. The name itself sounds very heartwarming to me. I don't have any blood relation with this city but I always can feel like it's home. Yogyakarta has this humble and friendly aura that I can feel. I'm always a tourist in Yogyakarta, but the people make me feel like I'm not somewhat an alien, simply because I understand what they are saying, and I can speak the language as well. From the hotel staffs to tukang becak, I'm glad there were almost no language barrier. #JavanesePride.
As for the picture above, my friend and I were en route to Jogja National Museum to see the annual exhibition of ArtJog 9. I was sooo happy to have the chance to visit it! It was all worth the price to see tons of beautifully created pieces. Also, we both found a bakmi ayam just down the street from JNM, right in front of SMA Negeri 1 Teladan. I checked seven-ish off of my bucketlist. Including visiting Ratu Boko Temple, prayed at The Great Mosque of Yogyakarta and walked around Prawirotaman (and checked out their pretty hotels, too!).
I'm not a very big fan of desserts but their chocolate ice cream lifted me up.
This was an accidental capture. Credits to the clouds for the cooperation in making this photo look pretty.
Two out of many of my favorite pieces. Too bad I couldn't recall who were behind them.
No filter needed, baby
There's always first time, isn't it? And my last visit to Yogyakarta marked my first time going on a trip without my parents. Tell you what, I'm convincing you that you too, should hit the road with your best friends because it totally will unveil the new things and make you see them in a much wider perspective. Hopefully I'll be given some more fortune so that I could go someplace nice and take more pictures to share with all of you.
Spreading good vibes,
Sarita Ayas
